Nate Laskiewicz | VT Lake Region Fishing Service | Two Time NYS Bass Federation "Angler of the Year"

Nate is VT Lake Region Fishing Services. He began his fishing at a young age fishing the rivers of the Southern Tier and the Finger Lakes of New York. He was the one kid that always came home with fish, a natural talent.

Nate with a typical Peacock bass in Brazil Nate became a regular on many tournament trails, Over the past 25 years, Nate has garnered many first place wins and top ten finishes, including two time NYS Bass Federation “Angler of the Year.” He started off his tournament career as a non-boater, and learned his skills from fishing competitively and utilizing hours of practicing. He became a boat owner after winning a 17-ft Ranger Boat at the NYS Mr. Bass Tournament on Keuka Lake at the age of 18. Nate has fished many different circuits including three different team circuits where he secured Team Angler of the Year titles with different partners.

Nate had the reputation of taking long runs to find fish and would dare the rough water. Growing up on Seneca Lake, Nate was use to handling rough water and fishing under tough conditions. He contributes some of his success to being able to fish under harsh conditions, but like all of us, prefers a nice easy day on the water.

His fishing techniques range from working hair jigs in deep water to throwing spinner baits in shallow water. His preference is to flip deep weeds and work structure. “Versatility is the key,” Nate states, “knowing how to fish a variety of baits and to be able to fish for bass at all depths, in whatever conditions you're presented with.”

The Boat you could be fishing from Nate also recommends for young anglers to find a mentor that is willing to work with you. This type of fishing relationship can be priceless.

In addition to a host of tournaments, he enjoyed special fishing trips to Canada and, most recently, to Brazil to fish for Peacock Bass. His favorite states to fish are Vermont and New York.

Nate's true Passion is fishing; when he is not fishing he is the Executive Vice President of Ivy Realty heading up the commercial property division. During the winter he snowboards and snowshoes. In the summer if he is not fishing you may find him on a golf course during the week or kayaking back waters.
